The Roomba vacuum cleaner is one of the models made and sold by the iRobot company. It first hit the market in 2002, and was followed by subsequent releases later on featuring new updates in 2003, 2004 and so on. New models have been added to the lineup as well, becoming more affordable as time passed. Even today, it is the most powerful and popular robot vacuum brand on the market.
When these first hit the market, my wife wanted one. I actually had my doubts as to how well they worked, and I told her to let them go for a while and we would read reviews as people began posting them. In my mind, they were actually quite expensive and I didn’t want to put the money into one – especially when they had been on the market for so little time.
A couple of years ago, I decided to surprise her (she had given up hinting that she wanted one because I ad initially said they weren’t any good) and I bought her one for Christmas. Boy, am I glad I did! This thing is absolutely MARVELOUS!
After she had opened her gifts that year, I was as excited to get this thing going as she was. I set it up in a corner of the room near an electrical outlet. I then proceeded to download the app onto both my phone and hers. I also put it on both our tablets.
From the app, you can run the unit indefinitely, or for a set period of time, but the real beauty, is that you can set up a schedule and it will run everyday for you. That’s the part I like most – just set it and forget it.
Now, many of you will be wondering what happens when the battery runs low. To start with, when the Roomba Vacuum is finished with its chores, it is automatically going to go and park itself on its charging station. HOWEVER, if it is in the middle of running its cycle, and the battery starts getting low, it will automatically stop what it is doing and go to the charging station to refill its battery. Any doubts I had about this little beauty are long gone.
There are models on the market now to fit any budget, and there is even one that will mop the floors for you, and most recently, there is a model on the market that will automatically empty its dust bin into the main station.

We had to have one!
